Before touching any messaging, we needed to understand Pocketworks on their own terms: who they serve, what they’re best at, and where they sit against the competition. Fact-finding sessions with the team surfaced their target customer criteria, USPs and tone of voice, backed by a full competitor audit to see how they measured up in their market.

With the fundamentals mapped, we turned to the data. A deep dive into the website’s analytics told a consistent story: organic search was doing the heavy lifting, but visitors weren’t always landing where the business needed them to, and the services page itself was losing people before they reached the content that mattered most.

Pocketworks were talking to a wide spread of technical buyers without a clear picture of what each one needed to hear. We built out detailed personas across their core sectors, each mapped against day-to-day activities, development needs, pain points and the objections that typically stall a sale.

Pocketworks’ existing value proposition was well-intentioned but wasn’t converting: enquiries had dropped since it rolled out, and it didn’t speak to a specific customer problem. We worked through what Pocketworks actually delivers, and stress-tested a shortlist of positioning options against how the business is really run day to day.

The final piece was commercial. We analysed revenue and profitability across every type of work and industry Pocketworks had delivered, to build a clear picture of where the business was making money and where it wasn’t.

Halston B2B gave us the evidence we needed to stop guessing. They got under the skin of our business quickly, and the mix of website data, personas and profit analysis meant every recommendation was backed by something real.
It’s changed how we think about where to focus.
