The social media platform’s ‘Club’s’ feature allows users to create and join private groups on the app. Now you need to know how to build a presence on the app to push your authority as a thought-leader in your field, gain an audience, or access to existing audiences already discussing topics relevant to you.
Clubs within Clubhouse work like a virtual clique. A selective congregation of users who share similar views. These can be started by anyone; but doing so requires three types of individuals to make it past moderation. Clubs require; a founder, a member and a follower. To be considered as a founder, users must have initiated conversation at least three times, by starting rooms. There can valuable talks to found in this way, our Founder, Georgia Halston recently explored insights with the Women Leading Agencies club- to tackle gender bias!
After hosting three rooms, users must then navigate to Profile> Settings> FAQ/Contact Us> then scroll down to click the link to the clubs request form. After filling out the form in its entirety, users must wait to be approved by the moderators. There’s no predetermined time it should take, you’re at the mercy of the Clubhouse moderators now!
Unfortunately, not all who venture into the Clubhouse are successful. Use this checklist to ensure you have the best possible chance of prosperity.
- Get in early. The phrase, the early bird catches the worm is spot on. Even if you don’t have the all-important invite, download the app today and secure your username. In years to come, this will be valued real estate.
- Be active. When you’re in, don’t waste the opportunity, talk to anyone and everyone. Time spent making connections will serve you well when the app is opened up to the public.
- Offer common ground. Starting conversations can be daunting, when there are more people to choose from, make yourself irresistible to communicate with. List your likes and dislikes, your passions, your industry. Make sure to show your personality.
- Pick your invites. When joining from an invite, whoever invites you will forever remain on your profile. Choose your links well, and make sure to choose people who you think will thrive and you will benefit from their popularity by association.
